Greetings all - this is my first post so if I'm using the
wrong forum please forgive me

I have a 3/4 year old Hitachi 46F500 and a Sony PS2

I don't play games that much, but once in a while I would
like to play a game that uses a fixed life meter in the
upper left corner of the screen

If I were to play this game for say 2 hours at a time
would I burn in the screen?

What would be a safe game duration to avoid this?

I love my HDTV and I don't want to replace anything
unless it's due to natural aging

Thanks

I don't think anyone can really put a time on how long burn in will occur but there are safety precautions you can take such as lowering your contrast. Having your contrast up all the way with a really bright white solid image can burn in a lot faster than a dimmer, darker object.
Many people on these forums are using their RPTV's to play games and from the sound of it, 2 hours doesn't seem excessive as long as that time is balanced with watching other images.

thats the key - balance the time out with other viewing habits and there will be noting to worry about- my neighbor vids for 2 hours a day - and has had his toshiba 43h83 for 2 years now - no problems
