sorry for the post.. i'm sure it's been discussed to death but i couldn't find a straight answer searching the archives...

does the 40H80 lock with a progressive signal? i'm debating between the RP82 and RP91, and would like to scale non-anamorphic discs...

    thanks

The 40H80 does not lock into full for progressive scan. I believe I have read that the scaling for the RP91 still looks better than tw2 mode and a non-scaling player but at least you have a choice.

Corey is correct on both. The H80 does not lock and the scaling of the RP-91 is better than using the H80's theater wide modes. I have compared the scaling of the RP-91 with the one on my Tosh 65HX81 and the RP-91 beats it hands down.

By the way I don't think the RP-82 is capable of scaling, so if you go with that player you would have to use the TV's theater wide modes.
