After lurking for a long time here, I'm finally posting. I just wanted to say thanks for all the great info in this forum. Based on your recommendations and my in-store review, I purchased a Toshiba 40h80 that will be delivered on Saturday. I can't wait to crank up the ol' DVD player on that baby.
Has anyone had a good experience with an extended warranty on this or other models? Where can I purchase one?
    Thanks in advance.

I would guess that you would purchase the extended warranty from the place where you bought it from.
Standard warranty is 1 year, except in Hawaii, where it is 3 years. Get the extended warranty if it's < $120/year. That'll come out to $10/month - that's not too bad an insurance policy.

Big screen televisions are about the only piece of electronics equipment for which I will buy an extended warranty. A dead RPTV means a big, heavy box gathering dust in your living room.
