Wow...very interested in a couple of those...

Steely Dan - Gaucho and Sigur Ros - () are easy decisions. Good music and definitely ones that would be enhanced with the increased fidelity (and real curious to hear the multi mix on the Sigur Ros disc.

I must say that I'm only interest because these are hybrids. I will not buy any more single layer. I love Peter Gabriel's So...but will not buy the single layer. Maybe they'll learn eventually.

Interesting list though not really new news. All it does is relay the information that has been up on Universal's site for a few weeks, which is always changing. Looking at their site, it seems they now have dropped the three other Johnny Cash American recordings which were earlier listed as coming soon. The Roots have also been dropped at this time.

Check em out here.

I am interested in Steely Dan for sure, as well as Gabriel, the Johnny Cash disc(s), The Roots (if listed as coming soon again), and possibly Shania if the sonics are decent.

Also interesting was the next SACD story where Sting's site is allowing US fans to buy the hybrid capable European version of all Police catalog titles.

That works for me! :)

I am most excited about Shania, John Hiatt, and Steely Dan Gaucho which is long overdue. :D

I guess I'm a bit picky, the only one of any interest to me from their list is Shania Twain's Up!.

I am most excited about Shania...
Alright, alright... I've thusfar very intentionally not put this title on my "list of upcoming SACDs to get excited about", but that list isn't supposed to be a reflection of my tastes only.

Is it true? Are you guys truly excited about this title, or are you just bringing it up for its mainstream cache? If the former, I guess I'll add it... albeit reluctantly...

Color me wholly unexcited about Shania music. :)

As far as Police hybrids, Sting's "store" simply has links to Amazon UK for the hybrid discs. They are about $19 with the current exchange rate, but I have no idea what shipping costs.

I'm still highly peeved about the USA not getting Police and Peter Gabriel hybrids.

Have you ever been to London? This is a great time to go with the rates being very low. Perhaps this gives you an added reason to take a vacation.

I personally find London to be far better than a trip to New York. It is more diverse in its population, culture, and professional makeup.

Just a thought. :)

What on earth does New York have to do with this? I guess you can't often talk about SACD without bashing you-know-what, and you can't talk about Europe without bashing America.

:rolleyes

Gee it guess it does not pay to be nice around here.

I try to make some observations that a London would be a nice destination and give the ever-popular NYC as a reference and somehow this gets linked to the SACD discussion?

When have I brought up NYC in the context of SACD before?

I think it is clear that no one, especially me, is bashing America - just making some observations about one of our more over-rated cities, that's all. :D

Michael,

Who's being negative here - I made a nice suggestion about London and you try to turn it into something else.

After Steve Simon's post to settle down, I thought I would suggest something nice.

Lesson: It just does not pay to do something nice around here.

kidding, naturally... but thought I'd better make it clear, as you folks seem poised to jump down throats for just about any ol' innocuous thing...

I will not be buying the Shania Twain SACD. I just can't take her voice. No offense, but I feel she is grating on that "Getcha Good" song. Just listen to her on that verse, "Don't ever say nooooo." On "noooo", she sounds like she is whining. O.K. Enough of the rant. :)

The only title there that really excites me is Steely Dan Gaucho. That one should be great. I still hope they release Aja on SACD, but I'll certainly take Gaucho. :)
