q1 What is your viewing distance from your set to your seat?

q2 What are your room dimensions?

q3 How is the picture overall with 16/9 material and 4:3?

1. My viewing distance is about 7 feet.

2. My dimensions are about 14x16.

3. Picture quality is good to very good for cable and excellent for 16:9 anamorphic DVDs.

1. My viewing distance is about 13 feet.

2. My dimensions are about 15x16.

3. Picture quality is good to very good for cable and excellent for 16:9 anamorphic DVDs. If I had a choice I'd sit 6' to 7' away for the awesome clarity and resolution but the room layout/aesthetics/waf prevents this.

I have a 36" Samsung TXL3676. $588 at American TV this week. It's an analog tv. The room is about 12x17 and I sit about 7' from the screen. It does the squeexze trick, so anamorphic dvd's played with my old Toshiba dvd player look great. Satellite 4:3 looks good to.
