I hope I'm not flooding the forum with this personal request, but it's like this:
I have a thing (like an OCD or something :P), by which I like to watch films relevant to the season we are in.
So, it's difficult for me to watch a summer movie in winter or vice versa etc.

Out of all the seasons, I love winter most and wintery films, so I'd appreciate it if anyone'd like to suggest movies from the timeframe I say in the thread title, which are very wintery with possibly heavy snow all over the film (not just one scene or 2). Films like McCabe and Mrs. Miller (although I haven't seen it, but I LOVE the atmosphere I see in the trailer and screenshots)
Of course I have searched around about this, like this excellent list:
http://www.bfi.org.uk/news-opinion/news-bfi/lists/10-great-films-set-wintertime
(hope Track of the Cat comes soon on Bluray, really liked that)

but i started this thread since I'm sure the well film-educated HTF members will suggest something that has missed my radar.:)
All genres are welcomed (except perhaps obscure horror b-movies, exploitation, giallo and such stuff) and all counties' films.

Jeremiah Johnson is great.

Few more:

Runaway Train

Never Cry Wolf

On Dangerous Ground

Man In the Wilderness

The Great Silence ( I'm cheating on this one, since it's not on Blu-ray)

The White Buffalo

Personally, I have to add - I hate winter. The least favorite of all my seasons. The only 'White Christmas' I want to see is with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye! But prefer Holiday Inn to this; also, The Bells of St. Mary's, Miracle on 34th Street (original), It's a Wonderful Life, The Bishop's Wife, Meet Me In St. Louis, Christmas in Connecticut, The Shop Around the Corner...oh heck - too, too many to list!

Day Of The Outlaw is the most obvious film because not only is snow ever present but is also the cause of the end resolution. A film that is not obvious is The Pink Panther. An important part of it takes place on ski slopes.

Thank you for your suggestions..
I'd suggest avoiding mentioning Christmas films, since those are usually wintery anyway..

From the films mentioned I haven't seen:
Man in the WIlderness
Nanook of the North
Aunte Mame
A winter's tale
(you mean the Rohmer film?)
Battleground
Quintet

THE FOX (Mark Rydell, 1967).

Interesting character study that features a pervasive wintry atmosphere. One can actually feel the cold isolation while viewing. Kind of a downer story-wise, but if that is not an issue for you, this is available from the WB Archives.
