34" widescreen with VGA inputs under $2000... my options?

    Loewe 30 inch planius sells for 2799.99 Thats the cheapest i can think of.

    You won't find VGA at that price. Indeed, I haven't seen a 34" set at that price at all.

    If you had more like $3k to spend then you could look at the Princeton Graphics AR3.4FTW when it comes out. Princeton's AR3.0HD is considered one of the best sets for the money and they have VGA inputs.

    Check out the 34" Sampo SME-34WHD5. I've never seen the set myself but there are several good reviews on the net (e.g., http://www.sampoamericas.com/news/PerfectVision.pdf). Once properly set up it is supposed to have a great picture and it does computer formats up to XGA. On the downside, it doesn't have many bells and whistles and the 480i performance is not very good because of a relatively cheap filter that is used only for 480i. I suspect you're not buying an HDTV for 480i performance anyway. There are several sellers on the web that list this unit for under $2000.
