This is all said and good....

But without actual streetdates.... It means nothing....

There are huge lists of announced titles that have never seen the light of day....

I personally am very disappointed in the HD-DVD guys.... This is all vaporware until we get dates....

Some announcement....

I am with you on being dissappointed. My HD-A2 is quickly becoming just an expensive dvd player.

Matrix and some of the Warner movies like the shining would be nice. I figured that Blu Ray was done last Fall but now I am starting to change my mind until they start releasing some stuff

I have made the decision to use my A1 as a upconverting DVD player only, and am seriously looking into buying a PS3. There are just too many movies on Blu-ray I am interested in upgrading to, and more on the way. When I look at HD DVD release schedule into the summer, there is only about 4 movies I am interested in owning. This is a huge dissapointment for me, and now I realize fully that the time to go blu has come. I just didn't think it would come this quickly.

I do not know how they will accomplish 300 titles when they are starting off the new year so slow.

I think they will get 300 out by year's end, I know of 71 announced releases that will be on the market by July 3rd that is in just barely more then 3 months, I think in the next 6 months they will get the additional movies out, heck at the rate of release it should be an additional 142 for a total of 213 more releases from now until the end of the year.

Why are some you so negative about this subject? It appears very possible to have an additional 300 titles out by years end. :D

Once again I agree. I will be using my HD-A2 to play the existing HD-DVD titles I currently own and the blu-ray player I will be purchasing in the near future to play the titles I cannot find on HD-DVD. I did have high hopes for the HD-DVD but it looks like it's going to be a relic soon. I'll set it next to the reel to reel deck.

Thank God they're cutting back on the Combo discs. I hate those because I'm only buying the disc for the HD and don't want to have to spend more on it. Also the discs have to be flipped most of the time when I want to watch the extras. And they are dual-sided and those bother me so much.

Thank you Wayne W for the information. The list looks very nice, especially with the Matrix Trilogy being released. I am still going to purchase a blu-ray player once other manufacturers get in on the action and the prices begin dropping. I love the look and sound of HD whether it's HD-DVD or Blu-Ray.

Hey, this is a pretty good selection. I don't know if they will actually be released and it isn't as good as what Blu-ray will release, but much better than I would have thought. I have both formats, but still think only one format is best for the consumer and retailer by a long shot.
