Will be moving into a new house and will FINALLY get satellite TV. We will have a big place so will get the 3 room system.

Question: Do I also have to buy a ~ $70 signal spitter?

The guy at BB said I have to get one, which surprises me as I would expect the 3 rm system to already have this taken care of.

    Thanks,

    Ron.

The technical term for it is multi-switch, not splitter. It depends on the dish and receivers that you get to determine whether you will need one. Look at the deals over at Value Electronics dot com. They aren't a sponsor here but the do sponser other forums like this. Their 3 room deals with one DirecTivo start at $39 and include all the equipment for the install.

    Ron,

Don't let them sell you a multiswitch. Your installation should come with it and they usually mount them right on the dish.

your dish should have a built-in switch to run 4 lines into the house. I would think about making one of the boxes a tivo witch uses 2 of the four lines.
