Unless I'm wrong, the following movies are unavailable on DVD (at least that are watchable in region 1)

    1) After Hours
    2) Together (Swedish movie about the 1970's)
    3) Le Samurai (French movie)

I am dying for these to come out. What's the holdup?
If anyone knows of any way I can get these on DVD please inform me. Thanks

I hope you're joking with regards to saleability. As for rights, you may or may not be correct. Anyone else?

I thought that After Hours was already released, with a planned SE in the future? (I'm talking Scorsese, I don't know of another After Hours)

After Hours was released? Can anyone confirm this? I've looked everywhere. Would make my day, hell, week, if this is true.

After Hours has not been released yet. It will be whenever Warner releases that Scorcese box set (hopefully this year).

I bought the region 2UK dvd of Together. I couldn't wait for the region 1.

New Yorker has plans to release Jean-Pierre Melville's Le Samourai late this year or early next year.

Since Lukas Moodysson's Together was distributed by IFC Films, I would expect MGM/UA to have the DVD rights, but I haven't heard any rumors about a pending release.

I thought about After Hours after recently watching Punch Drunk Love (I don't know why but PDL reminds me of After Hours, but after Hours is a much better film) and I don't know what's going on with this. There was talk of it being released but nothing ever came of it. You would think Gangs of New York would've given Warner reason to release this.

    Another alternative:

Since there are Region 2 PAL releases with English subtitles for both Together (Metrodome) and Le Samourai (René Chateau), you could buy a Cyber Home CH-DVD 402 DVD player for about $50 (e.g., Amazon.com). Then you won't be held hostage, waiting for the US studios to get their act together.

The two DVDs above are available at Machiavel DVD (a Canadian e-tailer) and elsewhere.

After Hours is probably my most wanted film on DVD right now (since Once Upon A Time in America and The Mission have been released [IMG].

I would also love to see Scorsese's Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore on DVD!
