I am designing a new media room in my new house that is under construction. I want to do a projector with two 27" TV's in the cabinets. What is the best (cost-effective) way to control these different units?

Do they make switches that are enabled by IR remote control?

Thanks in advance for any help.

What are you using for your AV sources? Cable (with or without cable box)? Satellite? They make a lot of switch types that are remote control. What exactly do you want this switch to do? Basically, tell us how you want it to work and we can recommend hardware.

Get a good computer programmable universal remote, which enables you to control an unlimited number of components and into which you can input an unlimited number of macro commands. This will allow you to control whichever components - either altogether or separately - you desire, in any given situation.

My ProntoNeo remote is the only component from my HT in America, that I took with me to Japan. Although it's a bit dated now, I can program it to run my HT however I want it to.
