I had just recently picked up The Village, Collateral (2-disc) and Two Brothers on a 3/$30 deal at one of my local HVs.

But, I'm not felling too bad about it because I had another three titles in my hands which I put down and now think I'll go back for. [IMG]

I went to Hollywood Video last night and they were still 3 for $30. When I asked if they were going to have a 3 for $25 they said no. This was at a central New Jersey location. Anyone in Jersey seen the 3/$25 sale.

    Thanks.

I went last night -- the 3/$25 is on, but this time, you MUST buy them in multiples of 3! If you want 4 or 5, they'll charge you full price for the extras. How stupid. In the past, it was always "buy at least 3, and they're $8.33 each." [IMG]

thanks for the info. if the I can get the same deal in Los Angeles, I'm thinking of picking up these today

    1 AVP
    2 Resident Evil 2
3 either I Robot, Open Water, or Bourne Supremecy

any advice which would be the best 3rd pick? I havent seen either of those.
I know the 1st 2 picks arent great but I want those at that price.
    thanks

If you can deal with the shakey-cam, go with The Bourne Supremacy, otherwise, go with I, Robot. Open Waters is a rental at best IMHO.

My wife and I both thought it was phenominal. Better than the original.

Dunno about AVP, but Resident Evil 2 was actually not bad, and its special features are fantastic. Check out my disc review in the Software forum.

I thought that I, Robot was decent. Haven't seen the other two. I don't remember seeing Bourne Supremacy at my local store, though.

I was at two other HVs in my area today...and they had an extremely limited selection.

I did walk away, though, from one with The Ladykillers (my wife picked it out. Even though we were unimpressed with the trailers during its theatrical run, she thought it would be worth a try), Manchurian Candidate (14-year old son and i enjoyed this at the theater) and Cellular (son is a Jason Statham fan).

Selection seems to vary quite a lot from store-to-store.

My persistence paid off! I checked two HV stores that were conviently on my way home from work, and both had the $3 for $30 deal going on. I was going to give up, figuring that the 3/$25 was not available in New Jersey. Well, just for the hell of it, I decided to call a third HV near where I live, in a more rural area. So, I called and asked if they had the 3 for $25 deal. The girl says, "no all of our previewed videos are 4 for $30." I was about to hang up , but realized, she said 4 for $30 not 3. So, I had to ask her again, "4 for $30, on new to previewed DVD's?" She replied, "Yes." So, I thought, "another case of I don't know what I'm talking about". But, I made the trip and sure enough they were 4 for $30, plus $7.50 for each additional DVD. I picked up "Collateral", "Hero", "Resident Evil, Apocalypse", "Troy", and "Scooby Doo 2", for my kids for an extra $7.50.

Thanks to Mike for the lead.

4/$30! [IMG] Very cool! Congrats Adam! They must've really been wanting to move some stock!

I was in my fourth local HV tonight. All four local stores are doing the 3/$25.

Frank: Let me know what happens at your third store.

Maybe I can post a scan of the flyer tonight...although the wording is pretty clear: offers may vary by store.

But, then again, maybe a friendly manager would allow you a "deal" when confronted with a copy of the flyer.
