I have an older 35" TV with built in line doubling. Every DVD that I have watched looks great on this set. 3:2 Pulldown now seems to be on the new HDTV's. How much visible difference does it make? Say, for example, on a 61 in projection set?
    Thanks

Subjectively, about 15% better resolution IMO. A 16:9 squeeze produces 33% better resolution, so I'm saying it's about half that much improvement.

    Arthur,
The single best scene that I can think of for appreciating what 2:3 pulldown is capable of correcting is in the opening sequence of the Star Trek Insurrection DVD. Without 2:3 pulldown, you will notice a distracting, undulating movement along the rails of the bridge, bottom of the canoes, fields, and especially on the roofs. On the other hand, when 2:3 pulldown is being engaged, these items will be rendered naturally and without any “pulsating” movements.
