I am looking for a inexpensive amp to tie into my Sony DA4ES for a second room. It does not need to be that powerful maybe 50W per channel Driving 2 speakers. I do have a old Kenwood receiver but I rater have something smaller sitting on my shelf. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

    Luke,

The amp you've described seems quite appropriate for your 2nd zone application. 50 watts should be more than enough -- more than likely, you'll just be having some sound in the 2nd area for background and not necessarily critical listening.

Let us know how it works out.

    Wayne,
I did not want to use the Kenwood receiver for the 2nd channel amp. could you recommend a inexpensive amp?

    Try the audiosource line.

Two of these small monoblocks would do.

    Here

There's also some used amps on audiogon etc that would do nice...like this one

search for "receiver" or "integrated amp*" on ebay and enjoy! I'd go for a NAD, Rotel, 80's era Onkyo (extra points for silver), Luxman, etc. Great stuff for cheap!
