i currently have a 2039cs purchased earlier this year so it has the new driver. i am going to be moving to a bigger place in a month. the cs is currently powered by a marantz ma500. once i move the single cs will not be enough, cause it is not enough now but i didn't want to buy another one yet cause i am going to move. but since i am close enough to the move now i would like make a decision. should i get a samson 700 and another cs or should i get a 1000 and a CSU? the first option would probably be slightly cheaper, however the second will allow me upgrade by getting a second CSU. has anyone heard both setups before? how would the two setups compare? thanks for looking.

I more note to add. I know I can do a search here and find a couple of comparisons between the setups I just mentioned, but since both the CS and CSU have gotten improvements the comparisons might not be as accurate anymore. Anyone heard both the new CS and CSU? Thanks again.

Hi Stanley,

How large is the current room, and how large will the new room be?

When you say the SVS isn't enough...what DVDs are giving it the most trouble? Also, how far from the subwoofer are you sitting and how do you have it calbrated?

my current room is 12x13. my new room will be 12x18 but will be completely open to the hallway and kitchen which is 40' deep.

when i say the svs i not enough i do not mean it is having any trouble with any of my software. it has actually never bottomed out on me other then when i play my bass mechanic cds.

my svs cs has been great but i am just looking for more even more. i guess it is because i come from the car audio world. i am used extreme spl.

i actually haven't calibrated my system yet cause it is just a temporary setup untill i move.

again i am not complaining about the performance of my cs i just want to get most bass i can afford.

Hi Stanley,

I would go with the dual 20-39cs subs over a single Ultra in a max dB drag race...

Adding a second CS would give you 6dB more clean output across the board.(if placed near the first subwoofer). Do you think 6dB more headroom would meet your performance desires...or do you want even more?

thanks tom. so that is what i'll do. if two aren't enough i can always pick up some ultras later, since svs subs can be sold used so easily.
