Bottom line...this episode REALLY left me pissed!!! Over and over and over I wanted to reach into the TV and throttle the players!!!!!!

I am not one to get close to offering spoilers but I will say this...Hopper is not the best man for this job! He sounds like Boris Badenoff!

EVERYONE needs some sleep...bad choces made at CTU. Jack certainly didn't think clearly on THAT one!!!! Mason shows his real colors but you have to REALLY pay attention to see it.

Are those words of love on that laptop? And like every porn movie..it all begins with a massage.

Kim shows some "balls" in a couple of instances...which brings about the break she needs...again from an unlikely source.

Good thing the knife driven into one of the brothers Drazen wasn't all that deep! Saves someone's ass in the end!

All in all...a really frustrating episode to me. The series at the hour of the day this episode depicts leaves us dead in the water...but that spot in the lake is a whirlpool. Going round and round..but keeping us in one spot.

In a few of the circumstances in this episode...less certainly would have been more.

Hey there Scooter.
Two things:
One: Try to use spoiler tags on some of your comments.
And two: How do you get to see the episodes so damn early???? :D

I see'em 'cause I'm Special!!!!!
As for spoiler tags..I don't really give away anything to tell you who is what...but stuff to keep an eye on. And for you all to see how clever I can be once you watch the show.

Thanks for the preview, Scooter.

Spoiler tags really are not needed. I'm looking forward to being pissed off tonight!

Me too. Last episode was the best since the first assassination attempt and I'm eagerly anticipating tonight's episode.

Mason has a thing for Nina.

After Jack's phone call that he answered, why else would he make those comments to Nina about wasting her time with a married guy and with Tony?

About the last 30 seconds:

Whaat?

I say again: Whaaat???

What the... what was that? I'll choose to laugh, and assume they just needed to do that to make the last trio of episodes make sense. But... but... that was stupid.

At first, I thought they must have traced her cell phone, but it was not hers, it was a policeman's who they would not know to trace. Unless... oh my, did Nina's partner at CTU hand them Kim? Someone at CTU did, and he was the one skulking around in the shadows on the phone to who-knows-who.

Future forecast: Everyone dies but Nina and Terri, who run off to a commune, a farm somewhere, and live pretty much happily every after (though even cowgirls get the blues).

Interesting thing..kinda..

Tomorrow's Enterprise bring back together Dean Stockwell with Scott Bakula. Stockwell is from that same group of actors that Hopper is. But when Hopper did Easy Rider, Stockwell was doing Rodger Corman stuff like Wild in The Streets.

And yes..I see Enterprise a day early as well.

The ending event of tonight's episode proves without a doubt that there's another mole at CTU. It's either Nina or Tony. Suspicion was thrown on Tony tonight as he was the one to deliver the news that Kim had been found, but that could be misdirection. I wouldn't count Nina out yet.
LDP didn't last long, did he?? ;)

Not a very strong episode tonight.
Maybe I'm just too familiar with Dennis Hopper, but he's way too over-the-top with that silly accent. Just not very believable to me. You're right Scooter, I keep expecting him to start talking about "Moose and Squirrel."
For a little while there I thought maybe Palmer's speech-writing girl was going to be an enemy plant or something. But it looks like it's just a crush on the Senator. What's the point of all that at this late hour in the show? Just wasting time for the viewers. Give me a break.
I can't see either Nina or Tony being a mole after all the good things they've done up to now. I can't see how there could be any logical explanation for either one's actions to this point if they were dirty. Is Chappell the bad guy?
I'm really hoping for some unexpected twist at the end to make the whole thing come together in a satisfying way, but I really don't see much developing like that yet. I hope the writers have something good cooked up. We'll see.

I also agree that there is another mole at CTU. I probably don't remember as much as the rest of you but I think the mole might be Nina. She left the safehouse before it was hit, and she gets information before Mason or Chappelle. I know that she left safehouse to make Teri more comfortable but it was just an excuse. Nina is probably trying to get back at everyone because they always make fun of her affair with Jack (ha, ha). Since Tony saved Teri's life, I guess he can be ruled out. Hopefully all my years watching La Femme Nikita weren't a waste.

Jack should have put one through Victor's head when Andre counted to one; the surprise might have given him the chance to get Andre too. Of course, that would greatly reduce the chance of him returning next season :)
Why was there no air cover? Follow the pipe to the exit, and take them out as they're leaving.
If the idea is to kill Kim, why not just kill her?
I didn't mind the thing with Palmer's assistant. I'm not sure if his advisor is actually in on it, trying to trap Palmer. It also gives another opportunity to show Palmer's integrity.
Anyone remember an episode of MASH, where they're all reading the same mystery novel, and the last page is missing? Then they go through all the possible suspects and it couldn't possibly have been any of them. They even call the author and the person that's supposed to have done it couldn't have either? I'm wondering if the mole will turn out that way.

A damn waste of 1/24th of the show. Two hours in a row where the Drazen in the hospital is not shown... I'm sure he's being a model patient!
Scooter, no spoilers needed, you always peak my interest (the show should give you a few bucks from the advertising budget!) ;)

Yeah, I remember that episode. A check of the M*A*S*H episode guide:
Ep126. The Light That Failed (Y-108)
October 25, 1977
With supplies low, the 4077th gets a truckload of ice cream churns and salt tablets. B.J. receives a mystery novel that everyone in camp reads in turn. The last page is missing and the solution to the mystery is undiscovered until B.J. calls the author by long distance.
I think the novel was called "The Rooster Crows at Midnight" or something like that.
Well, I think I've gotten off the subject far enough now. Carry on.

Here's my question:
Obviously the DoD knew Victor Drazen was alive and had been taken prisoner. Why didn't Senator Palmer know this type of information? Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Yeah, Dennis Hopper's accent made me cringe upon every utterance from him.
I didn't think last night's episode was all that bad, I've sort of expected the crazy plot contrivances to be played up heavily to fill in a story that didn't need 24 hours to be told. :)
"Bring it on" :)
How far away is the prison holding cell from CTU or the police precinct? I can't believe it's Drazen people that took Kim at the end.
I found the Mason all pissed at Nina for hooking up with Jack and now Tony to have come out of the blue. Creating this "Mason being in lurve with Nina" subtext at the 20th hour is rather poor writing.
I did enjoy Mason squirming when he was dealing with Terri's concerns and calls Debbie to keep Terri out of his way.
Chappel is probably still pissed at Jack for getting Palmer to reinstate him, so letting Jack to be hung out to dry isn't too worrisome for him.
Will Jack's superior (the one who was killed early on) return from the grave in the next 3 episode?
Who is the mole in CTU? Mason is too obvious; Nina would be a painful choice to make her the mole, but she's a scorned woman, so it's possible; Tony's rescue of Terri just about eliminates him from being the mole; Chappel does have an axe to grind, but don't know if he'd be on the day-to-day ops for this particular day unless the events unfolded in such a manner as it has.

The kidnappers at the end of the show were hired by Teri. She's actually Natasha Drazen, the youngest sister of Victor. She's been in deep cover in the Bauer household for ~17 years, extracting information from Jack. She's working with Tony on the inside at CTU. Most of the Drazen crew don't know her true identity, hence their attempts to kill her. Tony saved her from the assassin two episodes ago because they have a secret communcation device and a special code for their phone and personal conversations. Think about it people! It all makes sense.
Well, it makes more sense than Kim getting kidnapped AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
[/joke mode off]
Hopper should speak less.
The CTU squad that went to the prison seems pretty weak. Did they all go into the prison? Wasn't there anyone left to scout the surrounding area for vehicles or other methods of escape? I would have preferred it if the Drazen's had to shoot somebody on their way out of the prison.
[/joke mode on again]
Nooooo! Kim is the mole. The kidnappers were hired by the Drazen's to rescue her from CTU. She was resisting because she thought they were truant officers coming to get her for missing school. Tony is still the inside man... yes, it all makes sense now...
Noooooooo! Wait a minute! JACK IS THE MOLE! Of course, that's why he didn't actually kill Victor on his mission. It also explains why he isn't dead yet. He was the Drazen's point man on a mission to revive the careers of the "Young Guns" cast. I can't wait for Emilio Estevez to show up next week!
[/joke mode off again]
This show brings out the worst in me. :)

Well, if it is of any help to anyone, there are only 3 episodes left!
I think that Palmer was daydreaming when he was with his letter-writer. D I V O R C E - and marry her. Wouldn't she make a great first lady? :)
As for the mole, I don't think there is one. I think the last one bugged CTU.
As for the ending (of the last episode) they can all get together and then have another party blow up the building they are in, so everybody dies!

Well it would seem there must be bad guys on the inside at CTU or the place is bugged in order for them to know where to nab Kim yet again. On the other hand, it was a big surprise to the Drazens that the other brother was still alive and captured. Wouldn't the mole or somebody monitoring the place have picked up the phone to tell the studious-looking Drazen brother about that by now?

I'll be surprised if they can tie all this together in a manner that explains all these contradictions.

okay, pop quiz hot shots:

you have a hostage and so do the bad guys: each hostage is valuable to the other side. the bad guys are counting down from three at which point they will apparently kill their hostage. what do you do?

well you DON'T give up your hostage!

If you have a conscience, you give up your hostage, otherwise, sure, keep the hostage, and let the amoral bastard kill the other hostage.
