FOX has been very good with classic film & television releases as of the past few years, but this is one DVD set that I would like to see more than anything else!

What are the chances that these anthology series (20th Century Fox Hour, Zane Grey Theater, etc) could ever make the transition to DVD?

Would there be licensing hold-ups or issues due to the fact that most of these series episodes were adaptations of earlier Hollywood films or published works?

I've seen a number of episodes years back on FMC's 'Hour Of Stars' and all the prints sourced for television broadcast seemed to be in fine shape. I understand that they were all remastered and syndicated in the Fox package years ago and so I imagine that it would require and cost very little on the studio's part to put these out on DVD.

Who else would purchase sets of the above if made available?

VCI Entertainment has annouced that it will release season 1 of "Zane Grey Theater" but there has been no definitive release date yet. I'd take a guess and say by year's end. They just released "Burke's Law" and "Honey West" is on-tap for early September.

Lol are you kidding me?
FOX is one of the worst studios for classic TV, they release a couple of sets and then abandon them,
Mary Tyler Moore,
Bob Newhart
Newhart (Appears so)
Cagney and Lacey
Hill Street Blue
St Elsewhere
WKRP In Cincinatti

Classic FILMS I should have specified, which essentially these broadcasts are... even if they never were intended for theatrical distribution; they are movie remakes and it would be great to have them on DVD!

I have all of the "Hour of Stars" episodes, and the run times vary from about 43:00 to 51:00. I know of at least two episodes that ran around 43:00 (one co-starred Trevor Howard), and each had continuity gaps as if there were missing scenes. I don't think this series ever aired in a 45-minute slot such as first-season episodes of Cheyenne did, where (subtracting commercials) run times in the low 40s would be the norm.

The prints did look nice, but I wonder if complete ones exist for all episodes.
