I disagree, I think Trout did enough in his career to be inducted into the HOF. He had nine outstanding seasons even with the injuries the last 3-4 years. He was named to at least 10 all-star games and won the AL MVP three times. It might not be first ballot, but he's going in as there have been other HOF players that had injuries but were so good when they were healthy, they were still voted in. Koufax, Mauer and Puckett come to mind and there is probably a couple I'm leaving out.
You’re likely correct. My take is one of the questions that should be asked about a potential hall of famer is was he/she regarded as an elite player while they were active? The answer to this question about Trout is yes.

CWS lost 18th straight game including 0-14 since the All Star game. I know the O's have the longest beginning of year streak at 21, but I can't seem to find a Post All-star break record. I'm a little shocked it hasn't been posted in all the recaps in the last couple games. They already becasme the 1st team in 90 years with 2 14 game streaks in the same year. White Sox fans are now getting interested in team, but only to see if they can set some all time records 23 (1961 Phillies longest since 1900) and 26 in a row (counting several longer pre 100 streaks)
.

Giants pitcher Blake Snell no-hit the reds in Cincinnati last night- 114 pitches, 11 strikeouts, 3 walks. The first of his career, and the third no-no this season. Congratulations to Blake.

His first ever complete 9 inning game in mlb too! Crazy!

Also First time he’s ever pitched to the 9th inning!

Longest Losing streaks by era -- pre 1900, Deadball, and "modern" era
White Sox now tied for 12th longest all time, 5th longest Modern era and a couple games from becoming a very special team.

I still haven't found a Post All-Star game list (i.e. most games after ASG before getting 1st win), but surely CWS has got to have that record

26 Louisville Colonels 1889
24 Cleveland Spiders 1899
23 Pittsburgh Alleghenys 1890
22 Philadelphia Athletics 1890
19 Louisville Colonels 1894

20 Boston Americans 1906
20 Philadelphia Athletics 1916
19 Boston Beaneaters 1906
19 Cincinnati Reds 1914

23 Philadelphia Phillies 1961
21 Baltimore Orioles 1988
19 20 Chicago White Sox 2024
20 Philadelphia Athletics 1943
20 Montreal Expos 1969
19 Detroit Tigers 1975
19 Kansas City Royals 2005
19 Baltimore Orioles 2021

Watching a bit of the White Sox post game roundtable (Frank Thomas, Ozzie Guillen, and the host) and their own people are just ragging on the players and the manager. Chewing up their own .

If memory serves, they were expected to be the worst team in the league this year. Hard to win if you don’t have the talent, but it is the manager’s/coaches’ job to see to it the team doesn’t quit, or make stupid fundamental mistakes.

Well, trading away (a few days ago) some more of what were left of their talent certainly won't help them against this streak... though they still have Crochet, who basically killed his own tradability (w/ his contract demand as part of any trade), but didn't help them enough yesterday anyway and won't be available for at least another 3 days... They also just lost Thorpe to a forearm strain, which could be very ominous (as it's the kinda thing that too often leads toward UCL damage discovery needing TJS), so that's another excellent/promising SP arm not available anytime soon.

At least simply tanking for the worst record in MLB won't actually guarantee them the #1 draft pick anymore, heh...

Really? Baseball is doing a lottery for the top pick now? No matter- the White Sox will far and away have the worst record this season, and one of the worst records/winning percentages in the history of the game.

Move over, 1988 Orioles- you now have company. White Sox lost at Oakland last night- 21 in a row.

The 1961 Phillies 23 game losing streak could be much like Joe DiMaggio’s 56 game hitting streak, or Ted Williams hitting .400 in a season- something that will never be equaled going forward.

Article at mlb.com about the White Sox win said the person in charge of music at the Alameda Toilet played Taylor Swift’s 22 to the several fans in attendance, before the lineups were announced- a prediction that went awry
(hard to blame the A’s fans for not showing up at the ballpark anymore- lots of good seats still available).

So many times the last 2-3 months I've wanted to express--?--frustration, I guess, with the Dodgers, what with unbelievable injuries to so many players sidelined for weeks/months like Betts, Muncy, Rojas, Kershaw, Yamamoto, bullpen meltdowns, 5 run leads disappearing in the 9th, unforseen (but forgiveable) issues (Freeman) and new pitcher after pitcher and the like, but I look at the standings and they're still in 1st place, although a 4 game lead now instead of the 9-10 range it had been, but still in 1st place, so I shut up. But last night when relief pitcher Brusdar Graterol made his 1st appearance of the season in a game with the NL leading in wins Phillies, and after 🎱 pitches is now OUT for the season, I just...well...WTF!
