Mara should probably set his hopes at 5 wins and that Dart looks like he is at least making progress, not starting games, by season's end. If your season is over by December, then by all means start the kid for the final four games and see how he does but really, 7 wins is a problem unless one or more of those opponents lose key players to injury and come into those games in bad shape.

I think that the Giants need to play competitively and not be a laughing stock. If it's the same horrific football of the last two seasons with or without Dart he/they will be gone. Supposedly, Mara is very upset that Giants games are covered by the least important broadcasting teams. That was part of the reason of why they pursued Stafford and Rodgers - to get them back in the national conversation every week.

I might have to retract my earlier comment about Dolan being much worse than Mara as an owner.:)

That stuff was reported by Mike Francesa, the NY sports broadcaster (or blowhard based on your feelings) on his podcast. He usually has good sources. His rant post the benching of Eli Manning got Ben McAdoo fired. Go about 8 mins in here for the fireworks. Amazing.

Francesa is the same guy that yesterday said Dolan had nothing to do with Thibodeau's firing.

They are debating the chicken and the egg of the firing all over NY media. A lot of people feel this wouldn't have happened if Jalen B was ok w making a change. Tiki Barber said that happens often.

I don’t think they told Brunson until the decision was made to fire him.

What I heard was the owner of the Steelers said to wait as long as it takes or until Rodgers retired or signed with another team. So, that was all on Art Rooney, I believe is the story.

Rodgers has not signed anything yet, as far as I know and so, in reality this is another Rodgers "will" sign with the Steelers stories. We know Rodgers prefers all this stuff gets dragged out so there are that many more stories written about what he is doing.

Supposedly things now turn to the Cousins watch to see if he stays in Atlanta or gets traded. I don't think anybody cares.

In other QB news, it appears Anthony Richardson has injured his shoulder and is listed as out indefinitely, which basically means the job is Daniel Jones' to lose. Which is said to be what the Colts want anyway.

I think the Colts maybe should try to trade Richardson now, to a QB needy team. They don't want him, they probably would take a 4th or 5th round pick for him, maybe even less, so why not try to move on. They don't owe him a lot of money, he is on his rookie deal, and a team might want to try him. I don't know how serious the shoulder is, it is his right shoulder I believe, but he probably needs out of Indy anyway.

Who would want him?

Don't know, maybe the Saints?

I hope Jones starts and does well. He seems like a decent guy. I am also interested to see if he, like Saquon B. before him, blossoms on a new team and in a city w a calmer fanbase and less scrutiny from the notorious NY sports media. From the very beginning, apart from one or two starts, I always thought DJ was a bit off. Poor reaction time. Was the Giants' offensive ineptitude because of DJ or was he a victim of bad schemes, poor coaching, no O line and no real weapons? I guess we will find out.

Good news is it’s only a one year deal. This was a forgone conclusion, which was dragged out for publicity sake.

That's the only good thing about the signing. Hopefully Rodgers crashes and burns like he did in NY, and the Steelers get a high draft pick next season to select a QB.

I have never been less interested for the start of a Steelers season.

Well, I don't have anything against Jones and I get rooting for him but I don't think he is the same kind of player Saquon is. Saquon was a great player in a bad situation, once on a team with a decent offense and the threat of a passing game he was awesome. Jones is a mediocre player at best, probably best suited to be a back-up and so maybe he is a bit better on the Colts but I would not foresee a Barkley kind of transformation.

All it took for Saquon was to make it to a team where defenses could not just focus on him. Jones has far more to overcome, I think. He is probably better off in Indy than in New York, but outside of one decent season under Daboll, he's been kind of awful.

I watched the documentary on Netflix about Brett Favre and wow, what a horrible implosion that was. I remembered the thing where he was sending pictures of his junk to that poor woman that worked for the Jets but damn, the thing with taking money meant to help people in need for his own purposes...vomit inducing. I would cross the street to avoid him now and I loved watching him play football.

Between him and Rodgers, ex-Packers QBs are some really unlikable people.

There's such love and respect for Rodgers around the league.

Well, Aaron should probably watch his back at practice. I think there are a few Steelers defenders that would like to "graveyard" him.
