It does seem that this Purdy injury has made it very possible that Brady is going to give it his best shot to become a 49er. There is a rumor he has already let the Raiders know he does not want to play there. Possibly true, he may have told McDaniels he does not want the job. There are some crazy nonsense rumors that there is a deal cooking to bring Sean Payton and Brady to the Commanders but there is no indication the Commanders are going to fire Rivera. Plus the Commanders have already said they will be starting Howell next season.

The story with Purdy's injury appears to be if they can do a repair, he should be able to return in that 6 month time frame. If they need to do a reconstruction, he will miss some, maybe all, of next season. It becomes very questionable if they have to do that. So, the 49ers know they have a Super Bowl roster, at one point they talked about sitting Lance next season and bringing Garoppolo back. Now, I think they will let Jimmy go and perhaps bring Tom in for a Super Bowl run with this existing roster.

Tom will be 46, but only two guys threw for more yards than him this season. So, he appears to still be able to play and the 49ers roster is a lot better than the Tampa Bay roster. If the two sides can come to an agreement, I think Tom will do this because he would have a real shot at winning a Super Bowl with a third team and again, setting a record that will never be touched.

Technically, nobody can talk to Brady yet because he is still a Buccaneer until March. So, conversations with other teams would be tampering. However, we know Tom ignores this because he did so with the Dolphins and that cost the Dolphins their first round pick in this draft. Plus Tom and Josh are buddies so nothing to stop them from having a casual conversation or interaction where he let him know he does not want to be a Raider.

He obviously should not be having conversations with the 49ers yet but with Brady, I am sure he has made his interest clear.

This is why NFL maximizes the amount of TV windows in their scheduling. There's no other event that draws the eyeballs like NFL games, especially playoffs.

Per CBS, 53.124 million on average watched the [Bengals-Chiefs] game on Sunday night. It’s an 11-percent increase over last year’s game between the same two teams.

The game peaked at nearly 59.374 million viewers, presumably late in the fourth quarter.

This is why the networks throw billions of dollars at NFL for TV broadcast rights. They are a goldmine for selling advertising unlike anything else they can broadcast on their network.

I would think this no tampering rule gets broken on a fairly regular basis, from both players and teams. It’s like “You’re not supposed to be talking to us/me, wink wink”.

Should be interesting. While everyone was blaming Wilson for all of their woes, Troy Aikman made the observation that, yes, Wilson has lost a step or two, but he didn't think the receivers were running good, precise routes, and a few other small observations that indicated to him that the team just wasn't coached very well.

Maybe Wilson will be comeback player of the year next season.

I wish Ryans luck with the Texans as he's going to need it. Their fifth HC since 2020. They're run worse than the Raiders and that's saying something.

It's broken constantly. Basically, it is just somebody you know talks to someone they know. That's it. So, you can't have John Lynch talking to Brady and his agent but Brady can have some pal say to someone that knows Lynch, "Hey, let's do this!" and Lynch can tell his buddy "Yeah, it's on!"

They just discreetly pass messages through go-betweens.

So is the Texans owner also the Texans president of football operations and GM? If this is how the team is run, it will likely be a perpetual disaster. They do have future added assets (could very well be that they fleeced the Browns over the Watson trade),
and a blank slate. Hopefully McNair shows patience with Ryans.

He gave him a six year contract.
