2021 TV DVD Guesses? (1 Viewer)

Any guesses, hopes on what unreleased TV or Film might make it out on DVD in 2021? Criterion, WB Archives, and Kino Lorber are still producing releases so we're getting something.

I'm going to hope for Goldie Gold, Hanna Barbara's Wildfire, Tartovsky's Symbiotic Titan, and Head of the Class season 3 from WB Archives.

Bonanza seasons 12, 13, and 14 might come out.

Eh.. . . I can't think of anything else. Do you remember when you could get upcoming releases every six months or so?

Unfortunately that looks to be a real pipe dream. WB hasn't even offered this show in HD and apparently they’re even too cheap to do that. With that being said, I know that several of the original 35mm elements would need restoration work as they werent handled properly over the years.
BTW...I’m a big fan of this show also.

Not much hope alas, but for a couple of long shots that I'm not quite ready to give up hope on just yet, hopefully more My Three Sons and the licensing out of Emergency! to a 3rd party for a complete series Blu-Ray release.

For something a bit more modern, the original MacGyver series is slated for a complete series Blu-Ray release next year in Europe. We only ever got season 1 and it apparently underperformed in the sales department (And if you're like me and didn't buy it right away, it's now MIA at retail). Not quite a guess I guess, but at least it's something to look forward to for tv on DVD/Blu-Ray in 2021 if you don't mind importing.

For some reissues, I'd love to see Combat! (Doesn't even need to be remastered at this point to please me) and believe there's untapped sales potential there for an appropriately priced official release. And I'd love to see a reprinting of Sea Hunt. I finished season 1 lately and thought I really should buy the last three seasons soon and went to do that only to discover I'm a bit late.

If the MacGyver reboot is canceled after this current season 5, Lionsgate (or somebody else) might release a complete series dvd set.

(Lionsgate has not released season 4 yet on dvd).

Not entirely clear who owns this show. It was first broadcast on Spectrum/Charter service, but more recently rerun on CBS.

LA's Finest complete series.

It was cancelled by Spectrum/Charter. More recently it was on Fox.

Most likely this will be released on dvd by Sony, as a 7-discs set covering 26 episodes over two seasons.

Women Of The Movement

This hasn't been aired yet, but it appears it will be 6 episodes about Emmett Till's mother seeking justice.

On the 65th anniversary of Emmett Till's murder, ABC has given official green light to Women of the Movement, a six-episode limited series.

If Disney/ABC were to ever release this on dvd or bluray, it will likely be a 2-disc set.

Another odd case is the current CBS procedural show FBI in its third season.

So far it has not been released on dvd in america region1.

(Season 1 has been released on dvd in continental europe).

Season 6 of Alfred Hitchcock Presents should be re-released for those like myself who didn't buy it when it was available. Why it went out of circulation I don't know.

Completely agree that Season 6 should be re-released, Timothy, That release was an odd bird: first a pricey MOD DVD-R via Amazon, then it went out-of-stock, and finally it very quietly re-emerged as pressed disc at Amazon for a very low price. On a positive note, Universal did re-release a corrected single-sided disc release of Season 1 on 3/13/18, 13 years after their first glitchy Season 1 release with double-sided discs from 10/4/05.

Not a problem! It would probably have been pretty interesting, however, to see what it would have been like had it gone to color.
