The Lion King appearing in Animated Feature is interesting because the Globes placed it there of their own initiative. Disney is pretending that it is a live-action film and is not submitting it for awards in animation categories.

Of course, it is animated, but Disney would like voters to think that it is not.

GG snubs and surprises from EW:

Yeah, I think the only thing I've actually seen on that entire list of noms is How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World. And I don't have much interest in seeing any of the others listed (with the caveat that some have not yet been released so I don't know much about them).

Just a few of the top of my head. Those alone make it a great year for me so far and there are many more I want to see.

    Stronger than last year imo.

5 years from now, doubt we'll remember too many of the films from 2019.

If I find myself wanting to see the same movie more than once, I elevate that movie in my mind as a movie of "more than casual interest", and so far, this year, I don't think I've seen any movie twice, maybe one or two, but they escape my recall at this time.

Yup. And I’ll add Marriage Story to my list as it was devastatingly powerful film making. And worthy of its many GG nominations. I certainly won’t forget these terrific films of 2019.

The Globes will start on time. If the game is running late, it will switch over to one of the NBC sports stations.
