Considering the exemplary work they did on another chaotic Turkey, I'd love to see Arrow do Dune.
Criterion doesn't have the "rights" persay to The Graduate. They're sublicencing them from MGM.
What about it ? Shout is probably going to release it eventually like all the other Hammer films they have.
That's a hell of a list, & great news about Dracula, but I'd like to know more about the new colour transfer...& the murky old desaturated transfer goes all the way back to 1991! I didn't know it was that old.
I thought for sure they would be releasing Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932). Maybe in the future.
Well, at least Paramount SEEMS to be relaxing their stance on licensing titles previously released on DVD. Hope some of the titles we have been clamoring for are in the offing from somebody!
I'm confused. Where are The Graduate or Don't Bother To Knock mentioned in this press release. And what 'Bancroft announcement' are you referring to?
Anne Bancroft was in "Gorilla at Large"
i know that a lot of us are waiting on that announcement of Murders in the Rue Morgue, but are we sure that it is with Shout/Scream, what really has me impressed is the continuation of Universal Horror Vol 3, yes i know many will think this is 2nd tier or third tier films in this group, some other great announcements in that group. maybe some day they will get around to finishing porting over the Karloff Collection that Uni did, fingers crossed that the Inner Sanctum Mysteries gets a eventual release as well.
Yes, but those deals tend to be exclusive, in that MGM can do what they want with the title, but it is off limits to other 3rd party labels until Criterion's deal with MGM expires.
And MGM, as far as I am aware, owns that film outright along with most (if not all) of Avco Embassy's catalog as a result of the Polygram sale, so Studio Canal is less of a factor than in other cases.
I'm thinking/hoping that'll be in a fourth Universal Horror volume.
I was just about to order the UK Arrow Big Trouble In Little China. Glad I held off.
Yeah, let's see what happens. If things are loosening, we should be getting some titles from the likes of Criterion & Arrow.
