Baseball time is here again!

Go Cubs Go!

It would be nice if they can stay healthy and be competitive.

Amen!

Let’s Go Mets!

Side question. I don’t pay for cable or mlb tv.
Loved the free streaming games on yahoo mlb last year. Will they be doing these again this year?

I also saw some free games will be offered on mlb Facebook.

Is mlb Twitter also doing free mlb games??

Notice a theme here?

Anyway I’ll keep searching too. It would be great to have a listing showing what is available by day.

I figured out that the mlb tv app on my blu ray player will allow me to watch the mlb free game of the day. Very cool!!

I texted "Play Ball!" to my son and figured I'd shoot the first pitch of the season and text it to him....only to record Ian Happ putting it deep into the seats!
Some commentator made the comment last night that Happ should expect a steady diet of first pitch breaking balls from here on out.

It wasn't a very good first series for the Cubs, going 2-2 against Miami is not acceptable.
Let's hope things improve against the Reds.

Well, to be fair, the Cubs history with the Marlins has been a bit spotty, at times.

My gut says things will pick up for the Northsiders. Just a slow start for them. It happens.

CHEERS! :)

Mets and Yankees games all snowed out today!

Boo!
April snow in New York City?

The Toronto Blue Jays first ever game was played during a snowfall. I still have faint memories of our Grade 6 class being led to the Resource Centre to catch a bit of that April 1977 game on one of those massive grey Black & White TV monstrosities! Our family actually lived in a northern Toronto suburb called Scarborough in those days, before our move to London (In Ontario, Canada, not the UK!) in January, 1978.

It seems to take very little for a game to be called off, these days. The Jays inaugural Exhibition Stadium "Blizzard" game probably would have been postponed, based on today's judgement calls on such matters.

CHEERS! :)

It's ridiculous that they start the season so early. The start of baseball should be May 1. These are supposed to be the "boys of summer," not the "boys of winterish-spring, spring, summer, and several weeks of fall". There's no need to play so many regular season games, other than to suck as much money out of the fans as possible.

Best thing to happen to the Phillies was for the game to get snowed out. Yikes, Gabe Kaplin.

Lol at the Twins for complaining that a player on the other team continued to compete even when losing 7-0.

Twins had their home opener yesterday and won 4-2 over Seattle. YAY!

The best part was the pregame show with the eagle flying around and landing on Seattle starting pitcher,
James Paxton.
I like that he quickly became calm and cool and let the eagle decide what to do.
Plus he pitch a decent game much better then the Twins starter.

There's a lot to like there in that proposal:

--the elimination of interleague play, first & foremost
--a shorter season with better chances of good weather at both ends of the season (especially in the NE)

But why not consider 154 games? There'd at least be a precedent for that number.

So I’m making a baseball scrapbook of games I attended through the years. I’ve located some of the 2005 2096 game summaries however I google search may or may not turn up the results.

Hers an example:
http://www.espn.com/mlb/game?gameId=250511116

This is the May 11th 2005 game but I cannot find May 10th...
May 9th did show up though..

I am looking into paying for old newspaper story copies but not sure how much I want to spend. If espn has a recap that’s probably good enough. I also will print the box scores. A few games I did save the local paper too. Wish I would’ve done this more!!

I would welcome any suggestions.
