Avengers: Infinity War now stands at $1,998,033,699 (estimate) world wide. It should hit the $2B milestone Monday and finish domestically somewhere around $680M.

A little surprised about Hotel Artemis. Of the three new releases this weekend, I thought that was the only one that looked remotely interesting.

It's amazing the two very different paths that Disney's two biggest franchises have taken with China. China's really come to embrace the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even as it increasingly scorns Star Wars. I wouldn't be totally surprised if Episode IX doesn't open in China at all, after Solo's disastrous performances and declining attendance with each new title.

I don't think it got a lot of promotion. Heck, I'm not sure I ever saw a trailer for it!
It's probably just the luck of the draw but I saw the trailer a number of times on movies in the last month or so. It probably speaks to the TV shows that I watch but I saw a good number of TV spots too.

I watch zero TV so I have no idea what runs on the tube. I spend so much time with Blu-rays that I have no time for regular TV! :D

The actuals came in higher for Avengers: Infinity War (both domestic and foreign), so as of Sunday the official take is:

Domestic: $655,136,398
+ Foreign: $1,344,335,380
= Worldwide: $1,999,471,778

It will have already made the $529K it needed today to hit $2B, but those figures won’t be officially out until tomorrow.

Congrats to Marvel Studios for their first $2B megablockbuster!

I think it was the opposite for me. I saw many trailers on TV for Hotel Artemis. I don't recall seeing a single TV ad for Oceans 8.

Well, I did say that I never watch TV, so I have no idea what runs in terms of commercials in that format.

I go to a lot of movies and have a better idea what plays frequently as trailers.

I've seen the "O8" trailer at least 8 times, whereas I think I might've seen the "Artemis" trailer 2X - if that.

I'm honestly not sure I EVER saw the "Artemis" trailer, to be honest!

And what is weird is I saw a 10:30 am IMAX showing yesterday and the theater was barely 25% full.

As Jake says, I don't see too many families going to IMAX viewings with the premium ticket surchages, and don't think most kids would appreciate IMAX over a standard screening considering many of them are used to watching movies on small tablets.

I included the top 11 because somehow A Wrinkle in Time managed a 1,643% increase from last week. I have no idea how that happened.
