Early estimates are about a $230 million opening. #2 behind Star Wars The Force Awakens’ $245 million.

Deadline says it's now looking like $247m+ but won't officially call a record until the morning. I think it may come down to weekend actuals, which won't be known until Monday.

Deadline said:
Today, Infinity War scored the record for the best Saturday ever with $80.9M, which is 16% ahead of the previous Saturday record owned by Universal’s Jurassic World ($69.6M, June 13, 2015). Today marked a wonderful -25% ease from Friday’s $106.7M (including $39M Thursday previews). Back those previews out of Friday ($67.7M) and today was +19% over yesterday for the Disney-Marvel title.

In either case, this makes Infinity War the #2 movie of the year in two days, behind only its brethren and direct predecessor, Black Panther. I'm sure Disney and Marvel are delighted.

Evidently, not many people agree with your opinion.;)

Yeah, pretty much me and A.O. Scott. But my guess is that Anthony Lane of the New Yorker will soon be joining us. Is there even anyone here at Home Theater Forums who will join us? Colin J?

I enjoyed Anthony Lane's review of the Age of Ultron, which began this way:

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/05/04/fighting-on

“Avengers: Age of Ultron
Who is Ultron? What is he? I went into “Avengers: Age of Ultron” not knowing whether the name referred to a man, a concept, or a laundry powder, and I came out none the wiser. All I can tell you is that it speaks in the voice of James Spader, and that it can’t make up its humongous mind whether to save the world or to trash it. (This is a Marvel movie, so the third option—simply leaving the world to get on with its daily business, in its own sweet and shambling way—is not on the table.) To start with, Ultron seems to be a computer program, and at one point it even squares off against another computer program—a ball of sparky golden light versus a ball of sparky blue light, bobbing and spitting at each other, without a human in sight. Maybe one day all movies will look like that...."

But yes, no effect whatsoever on the box office for that movie or this one....

The final number appears to be in for Avengers: Infinity War: $258,184,000

Or perhaps it's just an updated estimate. Figure is from BOMojo which still has it marked as "Estimate".
