    Hi,

I am in the process of deciding on an exteral amp for my pioneer 49txi. what would I gain if I went with a 200watt amp over a 125 watt amp driving Klipsch RF7s?

    The short list is
    Parasound A51
    Bryston 9B THX
    B&K 200.7

but 125 what amps are far less expensive.

thank you for sharing your knwledge and opinions
    Scott

In terms of difference in loudness, you will gain: 10*log(200/125) = 2.0 dB. Is the extra cost worth 2 dB?

Klipsch speakers are generally very efficient, so you do not need gobs of power to achieve high output levels with them.

Aaron is absolutely right. With the Klipsch's I suggest you stick with 125W/ch and save the money.

I'd have to agree 200 watts into a Klipshe is over kill to the extreme. I'd also add the Rotel RMB1075 to your list of amps to demo.
