Well, it looks pretty awesome to me! The actual newspaper today had 3 pics of it. More retro front end then current models, but overall a nice, sleek modern design. Cant wait to see it in person at the Auto Show...
I got a 67' fastback that might have a for sale sign on it very soon!![IMG]

Awwww just one picture? I'm glad they're changing it finally, they're everywhere on the streets and it would be nice to see a different body style.

Actually, if you have the February 2003 issue of Motor Trend (which just hit the stands in the last few days) they are showing pictures of the Mustang convertible concept car that is essentially a preview of most what the new Mustang will look like. I believe the front end is pretty much what we'll see but the back end will probably be changed on the production version.

Nice front. You can see a little Shelby GT there.

They have got to get rid of the Fox body/chassis, though. That design is ancient (from '79 and shared with Fairmont)!

I was planning on buying a GT this year, but I think I might hold on to my current car (2000 Eclipse) a little longer. I've already owned 1 Mustang, a 1987 Mustang GT. I think the 2005 may be my second. [IMG]

Man is that thing ugly. God, please bring back the Camaro. The Mustang is an embarassment.

No way! The new Mustang looks great. I'm so glad to see they're finally phasing out the "boat" body style of the mid-late 90s & today. While I do not like the Mustang personally, I think the '05 model will do very well based on the looks.

I would have to say that I am in the "do not like it" camp. It looks to much like they just used the front end of the Ford Crown Victoria and smushed it a little. Where are all of the sleek stylings like that of the new Z (one of my favorite new cars)? When I showed a picture of it to my wife her expression of distaste was priceless.

    Dave,
This is a completely unfounded rumor and I've done little research to actually confirm said information. According to the Pontiac representative at the local new car show here is the time table: GM puts the Firebird and Camaro to rest as they introduce both the GTO and Bel-Aire repectively. After a four year hiatus the Camaro and Firebird are to be re-introduced for the 2009 model year. As I said, I have zero evidence to actually support these statements [IMG]

    **puking**

I have a 2001 GT with the premium pkg. I would rather have 20 more years of that EXACT body style than have that thing for even ONE year. Ford needs some new management. Oh well, I was thinking of buying a 2004, I guess I'd better before that puker gets rolled out. If any of you are old enough, do you remember the "Mustang 2"? Talk about deja vu.

I may have nightmares tonight about my Mustang turning into a Honda while I'm driving it, man what a sight!

Oh man, the headlights have got to be reworked...

A couple of big circles and none of that 'worried eyes' look. Make it just like the classic Mustang.

Eh, it looks like they were headed in the right direction, styling-wise. It just looks like the stopped about 3/4 of the way into the process.

I will say it looks better than the current-generation Mustang, which has never looked right, IMHO.
