Use to be a time when Studios would announce a DVD title coming three - four months down the road. Recently it seems we have gotten a lot of annoucements for titles which will be released in 2004 - some 6 to 18 aways? (Disney has announced dates for titles as far off as August 2004) What gives, why are the studios announcing dates for titles we won't see for at least another year?

Ah Jeff, I was being scarastic. Honestly, do we really to know a title is going to be released on such aand such date one to two years from now?

They can map out their schedule all they want...but they better have a damn good reason when discs get pulled or release dates get changed to TBA.

No. Never bank on anything until that title is in your hands.

Yes we do! If it is on a schedule, then we won't have to bug the studios about \whine mode --when are you releasing xxx---\whine mode off. It is much easier all the way around.

As for slight delays, I see nothing wrong with a studio explaining what went wrong, even if it is made up, as long as they can give us an idea of when.

If the studios don't give you a reason that meets your criteria as being damn good, what are you going to do about it?
