Can you run 2 powered subs with just 1 reciever? My sony STR-DB940 only has 1 output for a sub, can a put a Y splitter on that and run 2 subs?

Or is that a bad idea? I have a Paradigm PRD-12 and have a chance to get another one at a great price. Any thoughts?

Yes, you can do this as they are *powered* subs.

Split the subwoofer line-out and feed it to each sub.

You may wish to be a bit particular about your diction -- running two (unpowered) subs off of one *amplifier channel* is a slightly different matter.
