What is the proper way to hook up 2 subs. Would you run a "Y" on the receiver sub-out? Also would it matter if one sub was rated at 20hz and the other at 30hz? Thanks

yes, use a Y.

no, it doesn't really matter that they're different (you can't do anything about that anyway). what's important is calibrating them properly.
