I picked up the French DVD of "Nikita" a few months back, after I read on DVD File that the subtitles on the new R1 version would be a transcription of the (compromised) dubbed English dialogue, rather than a direct translation of the original French dialogue.
For what it's worth, I was happy with the French disc and (so far as I can tell) I would agree with your reviewer that the English subtitles are a good translation of the original dialogue.
