I am looking for anyone that has had one of these vintage Dual model 1241 turntables from the 1970's. I have to come up with some what looks like torx bits to separate the bottom from the turntable. But what I am wondering is the analog rca cables plugged in inside the turntable or are they soldered to a connection? There is a bad cable and sometimes it is acting like it is partially shorting out or broken inside. I want to replace the cable with a new and better cable but thought if someone here knows I could just order the cable ahead of taking it apart. There is a chance I might get a new turntable for the main system but that is only if I can pick up a used vintage Marantz 70's stereo receiver and a pair of vintage JBL L100's. Money is very tight so I am just going to concentrate on getting this beauty taken care of.

to remove the turntable from the base, back out the 3 screws until they are loose, reach under the turntable and push the screws toward the middle and you can lift it off the base.
Go to youtube to see a demo. Do a search for a manual to see full service information.
