It seems that Bertolucci's 1900 will be released on R2 in Italy on 29 October 2003.

I've only seen a link to it so far on an Italian website (dvd.it - sorry I can't post a proper link as this is my first post). The details given there are fairly sparse, but show the running time as 310 minutes, so it seems that this is the full uncut version.

However, the site mentions only Italian subtitles, not English.

Does anyone have any more complete information on this release, or could anyone provide a more informative link?

I've been waiting for ages for this film to be released on DVD, so I'd love to buy it but English subtitles are, unfortunately, a necessity for me.

Would they release this uncut in the US with the scene of child nudity/sexuality?

Paramount likely still has video rights since the laserdisc and VHS were by them...

But it's still co-owned by MGM (via United Artists) and Fox.
