Ok Guys up until about a month ago I had never heard of svs or sonotubes. The simplicity of the sonotube has driven me to want to make my own. Question....I want to use an 18" woofer simply because I have one sitting around. Its a rockford fosgate can someone suggest a size tube and also port size?

Before anything can be suggested, you need to tell a little more...

Is there a size restriction for the tube you have? (height, width)

Whats the specs on that woofer?

What is the woofer for (music, movies)

    Ported, sealed?

Stuff like that and other stuff I'm sure....just can't think of it right now. Maybe someone else will chip in pretty soon.

Well, there is only one 18" driver on there site. Here is a link to it
    http://www.ezcompare.com/ezcompare/e...model=10002310
    The high lights
    fs - 22hz
    vas - 9.5 cubic feet
xmax - 19mm (doesn't say but I'll assume one way)
    qts - 0.5
Looks like a pretty decent driver. I'll let some other chime in with some possible allignments. That would require too much thought for me right now.
