Newbie on this trading forum, but a gold trader over at DVDTalk exchange forum under the handle Mr. Foo, with over 200 trades completed.

For quickest response, please email your lists to me.

** NOT interested in adult or anime titles **

Pratically all of my discs are in mint/near mint condition, some still sealed. I will verify condition of all discs and give you an honest assessment before completing the trade. I would expect the same in return.

To conserve costs, I normally use first class for single disc packages and media mail for heavier shipments. I also plan on shipping on Wednesdays and Saturdays only.

Some wants are listed at the bottom of this post....

    Thanks for looking!

    Hey Luis,

Like you and I, I wonder how many of the posters here also post on DVDTalk. Just thought I would try here to expand to a larger audience. Alas, maybe it's the same audience.... [IMG]

To answer your question, there used be a trading board over at DVDfile that has since closed. There is a horror dvd trading board at horrordvds.com, if that's your cup of tea as well. That's about all I know of....

Actually, many of the traders from DVDTalk are here, but you will find that very few people post here compared to DVDTalk. Not sure why thats so but the trade forum here has been very slow.

Anyhow, happy hunting... er... trading! LOL [IMG]

    Peek-a-boo, Scott! Guess who, bro!
It's the Panayoti-man from dvdtalk!! I too, Luis am an escapee from dvdtalk as Scott will tell u.
    He's me best friend. lol
Actually, I've been here for a couple of months myself and although its alot quieter, it's the quality here not the quantity. I've traded for quite a few nice titles here, for sure.
I also used to trade at Dvdfile, but they put up some lameass rule that states u need to have something like 10 or 20 trades to get access to their boards.... that or as they put it to me one time - "ask nicely"?!?! yeah, right.
I'm also a member of the Canadian Dvd forum but to trade there u have to be Canadian.

Hey fellas, thought I'd pop in and say hi also as a fellow DVDTalker (pthron). Haven't traded with you yet, Panayoti, but I have with Luis and Scott.

You guys are right in your assessment...it's a bit slower here in terms of volume, but it is indeed about quality and there are some good folks in these parts. I've traded a few times here (though only have credit for 2 thus far on the GTL) and have been very pleased.

And welcome back, Scott. I was betting you wouldn't make it to Groundhog Day, so I can't say I was surprised when you showed up. :)

BTW, I'm getting another list together myself in the coming week, so I hope to be trading with some of you guys soon...

    Happy Hunting!

Peter - Phil and Luis are great guys and very nice to deal with. You on the other hand are my trade whore with 5 trades between us.

The other forum is truly sucking since I have been back. Seems like people are only interested in new releases. A number of times I expressed interest a title and point them to my list of over 170 titles only to hear back that they couldn't find anything of interest there. I find that hard to believe......

Hence why I thought I would try other boards like this one, so here's to hoping for some quality action here. Or we could just make this thread into a dialog thread.....

Phil - couldn't hold out until Groundhog Day - watched too many movies over the holidays and now I need to unload. Looking forward to swapping w/you again....

Luis - got your Eric Clapton/BB King DVD-A in the mail on Tuesday - you are right - truly an awesome disc. The soundstage on the DVD-Audio 5.1 recording is truly amazing - definately a demo disc to show off the system. I'm open to other recommendations you might have.

Strange, I had a few interesting titles, a few of them OOp and the dreaded Criterions 2 yet no bites at all. I'm finding the same thing Scott, yet I had Barbershop a few days before it was officially out and NO ONE asked about it. So there is no method to the madness, I've never had such a hard time trading. Ugghhh!

I concur. I've been finding it a bit...odd...lately at DVDTalk. Still a lot of traffic through the forum, but I know exactly what you guys mean about the new titles. Everyone has their own way of approaching trading, certainly, and their own reasons for it. But, while I occasionaly look for a newer title, for the most part, if I REALLY want something I just order it. Nor do I have deep pockets, mind you. It's just a question of priorities. Any Fellini, for instance, that comes out is an instant pre-order for me. Same with Bava and Argento, Scorcese (hey, do I detect an Italian theme here?) and any one-off genre favorites that have been a part of my life. And we all have those titles we've been waiting on since the inception of DVD...many of which seem to have arrived in the last 6 months...these are also instant pre-orders.

There are just so many great movies out on disc that I could never afford to buy them as they appear, so I know that eventually I'll get around to them one way or the other. That's why I love looking at the long lists of some folks (Scott, I couldn't believe the scroll I did on your first new list...I was laughing as I went down and down and down). There are always some great things to catch up on. Hell, there's still a bunch of Hitchcock I want because I simply couldn't afford them all when they appeared. The hunt has become part of the fun for me.

Lastly, I've been really enjoying taking a risk now and then with something I might not otherwise have obtained. I might not have gotten "Bob Le Flambeur" before renting first, but I got it in a trade about 2 months ago, just watched it the other night and I will probably never part with it. Terrific, delicious film, for me. A risk that turned out to be wonderful. I can't see always wanting to get the latest Adam Sandler film before anything else. Actually, I can't see getting ANY Adam Sandler film, but that's another talk show.

Ah well, I guess that's what makes horseraces, y'know? And maybe I'm gettin' a bit old as well, but I wouldn't have it any other way...and it's comforting to know that there are still those out there who feel the same way...

You guys have a good weekend and I'm sure I'll catch up to you soon.

I haven't traded with Phil, my homeboy from Queens in a while. I'm pretty sure I've done at least 1 multi-disc deal with Scott. Luis, well, we have trades going on about once or twice a month since we're "neighbors". Although USPS media mail never quite figured that out. [IMG] I have never traded with peter_i, not because he's from Canada but because his want list seem to never coincide with what I have.

Hope to trade with you guys again soon. [IMG]

hey, Paul DD, thanks for the info. Got me to thinking that I need to open up my want list more so that it says "and many others, send me an offer." Hmmm, maybe that will encourage more trades, dunno. Seems very slow. I think we all need to thank Scott 4 taking up space on his post to have a conversation and not letting him get on with the trading. ok, Scott, I'm done.... btw, I got the dvd's u sent me.... and they weren't even damaged!!!! lol. Yeah, I'm taking my trade list down on DVDTalk - I think I'll just lurk there, looking at people's want lists first and then seeing if they have anything I'd like. I'm getting a little tired of being turned down so much - baffles me as I think I have a pretty big and eclectic trade list.

Luis - did you get my DVDs yet? I have received both of your shipments. If not, I hope it doesn't take too much longer.

Peter - got your discs yesterday - I see what you mean RE: Barfly - pretty mangled. Well, you live you learn.

Guys I don't mind the dialog we're having here - kind of refreshing - and it's not like I'm expecting any trade offers with my sorry-arse trade list....

Paul, yes sir it has been a while. Mostly because of out-of-sync wants, I think; same with Luis. I always check both of your threads, though. Good to see you jumping in here.

Peter, I think the only reason we haven't traded yet is because we have much of the same taste and priorities...your list reads like it came straight from my own collection. :)

And yes, Peter is right...thanks to Scott for not minding the dialogue. Always makes me feel like I'm not alone out here in the ether...

Really, Phil? would love 2 see your list sometime, then. Scott, what an understatement? U don't know the meaning of sorry-assed list until you've stepped in mine, yuch! You've got one of the better lists I've seen in a long time and I'm sure most of them are the titles you've traded me for! lol.
yes, it's great talking to others of converging interests, I'd say. Just wish I could watch a 1/4 of the dvd's that I have traded 4, it's a bloody addiction!
