I am looking at picking up a small 4x3 set for my bedroom. Does the 16x9 mode only work with anamorphic DVDs? Can it work with an HDTV signal as well? I am assuming you will need to set the DVD player as being set up on a 16x9 set. As I don't have and HD signal yet, I do not know if the HD receiver gives you the same choice, and therefore you may be able to do the same as with DVDs.

Thanks.

Not sure if 16X9 mode works with HDTV, but I can confirm that you do need to set your DVD player to 16X9 in order for the anamorphic enhancement to display the picture properly. If you have a non-anamorphic disc, just leave the 16X9 mode off...and do not change the setting on your DVD player.

16x9 does work if it is an HDTV set. If it's a standard set then only DVD will work in the 16x9 window.
