16:9 Squeeze on any TV other than Sony Wega? (1 Viewer)

Forgive me for posting what is probably a stupid question, but I have been out of the country for awhile and not following any of these lists.
When I left the only 4:3 TV that did a decent 16:9 squeeze was the sony Wega (at least that I was aware of).. have any other manufacturers stepped up and offered this feature?
Thanks
Rich

Rich,
Loewe has offered this on their TVs for years. The picture on their set is, IMO, better than that on Wegas. The Loewe's tend to be a bit more expensive and not quite as user-friendly as the Sony's, but then again, I'm not spending $2K on something to have cool features that I'll never use; I'd rather have the best picture that I can.
Good luck.

The bigger screen (32 and up)Panasonic Taus have the squeeze. I've heard that Toshiba also has the squeeze function in their direct view TVs. (Their 4:3 RPTVs DO have the squeeze--the 70 and 71 series.)

Dave,
It should enable automatically as long as your DVD player is in 16x9 mode.
