I am planning to get a Parasound HCA-1205A amp (140W x 5ch) for use in driving the front and center channels of my HT. It is equipped with a 12V DC trigger for on-off.

I am, however using a Denon AVR-882 reciever for a pre-pro. This does not have a 12V DC trigger.

Can you give me some ideas on how to rig this up so that the amp goes on and off with the receiver? I also plan on adding a small DC cooling fan to my rack to help keep the amp cool. My initial thought is to plug this into the switched outlet on the amp, but any other ideas would be appreciated.

I used the switched plug on the back of my Denon 3802. I bought a 12v transformer from radio shack(cat #273-1773), then bought a end that pugs into the end of the transformer with two striped wires on the end(or you could just cut the end off) and wired it to the Parasound. Now when I turn on my reciever the amp turns on with it.
