Is there any difference in using 14ga vs 12ga wire for a run of 25 feet? If not, where would (how many feet) the advantage of 12ga come into play?

    thanks!

At what length you start to hear degradation of the sound because of too thin speaker cables varies due to a number of complex reasons including the impedance of the speakers.
Experts give, for a one size covers all figure, 12 gauge wire for runs over 20 feet, I think you ca get away with 14 gauge wire until you get up to 30 feet.
Some time ago someone posted on this forum the URL of a web site showing a table of wire thickness versus length versus speaker impedance, I forget where.
