Can someone summarise the whole thread for me? There's too much for me to catch up on!

So do we all agree that all/most/some/none amps sound the same?

down and tell me there is a difference between a top of the
line Progressive Scan DVD Player and a bargain basement
Interlaced APEX DVD Player. Here are the rules:
You can not use any specific Video Testing or Calibration
tools.
You have to watch what I say is admissible to watch..
You can not use any standardized Video Calibrations Disks
to do the video testing.
The people used to do the A/B Tests can not have better
than 20/80 Vision.
I am sure you get the gist of what I am saying......

Yes these are stupid challenges at best. Usually some wing nut who can't even prove he has the $10K in escrow. The conditions are always far from impartial and everything is caveated out.
I stopped paying attention to this nonsense a long time ago. If you can't hear amp differences then go see an ear doctor.

WE ALL AGREED TO DISAGREE.

BOTH CAMPS HELD ON TO THEIR OPINIONS: I didn't see a single instance where someone changed their opinion based on all the arguments and counter arguments that went around.

WE ARE NO CLOSER TO THE TRUTH THAN WE WERE BEFORE THE THREAD BEGAN

I hope that puts this thread to a peaceful rest.

Gee I absolutely love this thread (haven't read it all). It should be specially archived. Please excuse my comments if they've been mentioned before.

I'm a newbie, so if I'm wrong please educate me. If everything is "equalised" b/w the two competing amps, isn't the signal (voltage - electrical current, isn't that all it is) in the speaker cable going to be exactly the same. Hence you can't possibly hear any difference, can you?
