I've got a Mit WS-55085 and am considering the new $150 Liteon that upscales to 1080i.

However...when I checked my set last night, I found that it only has 960i. (Settings are 480p or 960i)

Does this mean the 1080i signal isn't going to work on my set?

    Many thanks for you help.

480p or 960i is for the internal line doubler for upcoverting interlaced cable, DVD, VHS, satellite tv. When you run true HD through your set it will be 1080i just like if you have a progressive scan DVD player, it will be 480p. I have a 46805 and can see no difference when switching between 480p & 1080i while viewing cable channels. If the Liteon is a video scaler than it should upconvert to 1080i. Hope this helps.

The 1080i signal is going to be coming in via component....not DVI/HD. I wonder if that will make a difference.....?

I guess for $150, I should just give it a try....
