hi all.
need some crystal clear advise from you all...
i'm waiting on my new panasonic flat 42" plasma, ala [email protected] and was pretty commited to getting
the iscan plus, what i thought was the only sub $1000
scaler around...
but of course, while shopping for one, i had a chance
to see the new proton truescan! unfortunately, i wasn't able to view them side by side.
on the surface, i'd say that the proton looked as good
or better than the iscan. i was watching the forumla
one racing demo dvd, and didn't see very many artifacts
at all. the colors looked pretty vivid and and contrast
was high.
anyone have any comments on the differences betweent these
two scalers, or recommend one over the other with my
particular monitor?
thanks!
mike...

Doesn't that display have an SDI input? Over at the AVS Forum there are people modifying Panny RP56's to have SDI inputs (not a do-it-your-self thing, just send off the player, and get it back with an SDI output) -- The quality doing this would be incredible on that set, and blow away any sort of analog input.
