Thunderball tonight - another blast. The mono track is as terrific as the picture.

Father’s Day matinee: You Only Live Twice, beautiful. The neon signs in Tokyo glow with deep rich colors, seriously challenging the Technicolor prints I’ve seen of this one. The location footage is gorgeous. And, again, the mono track is terrific with a big dynamic range. A+ for this one.

"You Only Live Twice" was the first Bond film I saw during its initial theatrical release in a theater. Still my favorite. By comparison I always thought "Thunderball" was very sluggish.

And I know for a fact the amount of times you and sat in theater seats watching Technicolor prints of You Only Live Twice. By the way, Twice is the only way to live!

My set arrived from Amazon and no issues with loose discs. I did have playback issues in he first 2 films. I think it was just surface stuff in the discs though. I cleaned and did playback and from Russia was fine. Dr. No as less of an issue as it paused and then played one.

This set is easily my release of the year thus far - I looked forward to getting off of work each night (last week) in order to take in one of the Connery Bond adventures. The picture & sound quality are really outstanding (wonderful to see the DNR that plagued Thunderball's previous bluray release, the "blue" tinted You Only Live Twice, and Diamond's wild color variances rectified here). Truth be told, I thought the Atmos mixes were really nice too! Truly a pleasure revisiting these films. I could rewatch them all again this week....some of my favorites out of the entirety of my collection. Bring on OHMSS and the Moore pictures....if they look and sound anything like this, we're in for a treat!

Finished the set with Diamonds Are Forever tonight. For me, the weakest of these six entries but it was great to finally see and hear it looking as best it can.

6 for 6; well done, MGM.
I was a little upset as I placed Diamonds into the tray of my UB820...knowing that I was nearing the end of this set...I was reminded by @Sultanofcinema, that I could always watch them again!

Funny that the rest of the world is waiting for the Connery set and the U.S. got the set early. I guess the set is out in the 30th or so….
