I'm not a big fan of double dipping, but I decided to pick up the dredd 4K steelbook from Walmart, which has a 3D encode of the film on the included BD.

Okay, I'll have to check back closer to the time of release to compare. I had only compared the preorder price. As of now, there is an extra $14 to checkout through Amazon.

Amacon canceled my order for Robot Monster due to no availability. Guess I'm gonna' have to go to Bayview. EDIT: Oddly, they do have it available from third party sources. Odd since I preordered the effer months ago that Amacon themselves couldn't secure a single copy.

That's good information to have, but I don't see anybody purchasing 3D discs from Japan when they would be available stateside (i.e. Avatar sequel). This is slowly down to the actions of a rotten studio.

I like that it includes the UHD, but the MovieNEX is absolutely useless to me stateside. I wonder if there's a market for those on eBay. Speaking Japanese would probably make it easier to hawk said codes.

Christmas came early, both The Diamond Wizard and the new Jurassic World arrived yesterday. The former was stunning as expected (have yet to view the latest dinosaur reincarnation rehash). Any other releases coming? It feels like the end of home 3D cinema has definitively arrived.

Random Space media claims they won't ship to my address anymore (I've tried multiple variations for the latest Jurassic film with no luck). The last Spiderman was ordered and delivered without issue earlier this year. I'm US-based.

I doubt it will continue into perpetuity, especially as the 3DTV supply continues to dwindle into nothing. As for No Way Home, those stateside might want to get their orders in via RSM based on what customer support told me a week ago:

The display is simply doing the scaling and I'm not sure how this is detectably different on a passive display regardless of the 3d source it's being fed. It seems to make assumptions about internal signals that are not being equally applied to the HDMI inputs. I've only viewed a single...

You can add LG's 4k models from at least 2014 to 2016 as far as streaming capability (VUDU in the US) is concerned. The half-resolution is immaterial since the displays support 4K.

I'm definitely in the "Shazam over Aladdin Any Day" camp.

Re: Pets 2 (it arrived yesterday). Yes, it was disjointed, but not any more so than the latest Godzilla. Pets 2 was more fun and immersive (in owing to its full-screen AR). The bright and expansive environments were also more conducive to showing off the faux third dimension.

Hard to provide a juxtaposition point since I've yet to seen Pets 2 (and you haven't seen the latest Godzilla). It's just a little *too* ridiculous, outlandish, and improbable.

I heard the 3D makes up for it. Hope the movie is less annoying than the latest Godzilla movie in any case .;)

In the realm of Disney remakes, I'll definitely take Dumbo over Aladdin. Cool set pieces on the latter, though.

OK, just getting their feet wet in the conversion game. I didn't see it theatrically, only in 2D at home initially (and since in 3D). I wasn't overwhelmed but of course it was preferable to flat. The only title I don't have in the "mediocre" trifecta (and all Marvel 3D for that matter) as...

Even the original Thor? It seemed to be another occasion of barely there, but maybe I'll watch it again one of these days.
