Working with NAD support, I was able to update the firmware and I replaced the old optical cable. A few days in including some 4+ hour sessions and no audio dropouts!

Routed through the TV because they are 4k sources (except for the Directv box) and my T758 only has 1080p. I've had the 758 for at least 5 years. It's been great up to now.
