That's my point. It's as much wish-fulfillment dream for David as it is a nightmare. However scary that the Martians may be, or the abduction of his parents for that matter, he's literally living the dream as far as how the other adults in the film treat him. If it's a nightmare, he's still in...
But is it really a nightmare? A dream, yes, but what happens to him during it is as much wish-fulfillment as nightmare. David is respected, appreciated, and most of the adults believe what he has to say. They even let him participate in planning the fight against the invaders, and truly...
That's getting off topic, but Dynamation was captured in-camera with the backgrounds rear-projected behind the models. It wasn't an optical composite. (Rare exceptions, but that's how Harryhausen did the bulk of it.) So it's all on the camera negative. The catch is that the rear-projection...
As RAH indicated, the simple answer is no, but with an asterisk.
Regardless, aside from optical work, the camera negative is still the camera negative, and that's going to be the bulk of the material for nearly any film. There are circumstances where the opticals can be rebuilt digitally from...
It's way, way more than one shot. There are multiple dissolves, optically flopped shots, duplicated shots, reversed shots, and more. All of those existed in the SuperCinecolor dupe negative only, not in the camera negative. The dupe negatives no longer exist. Scott McQueen says that only about...
Sorry for all of those who had issues with the stickers -- I just opened mine up blithely without even noticing them, and they came right off without a problem. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than to be smart.
More importantly, though, it's a lovely, lovely disc. The dupe footage is...
Depending on the breaks, that might be all that you get. I think it depends on how it was shipped by the vendor. I get tracking numbers like that all the time that never update from the pre shipment stage until they are actually delivered.
Well, I still haven't even gotten a shipping notifications, so for all the times that you've had to complain about not getting emails from them, it looks like you'll have the last laugh!
#1309 here, and no shipping notification. On the other hand, I've gotten every single update email that they sent out, and right away, too. I've got one friend who got his already, but it might have been a review copy (I didn't ask).
