Press Release Reds 40th Anniversary Edition (1981) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

I saw the original stage production of "Cabaret" and it kind of changed the way I looked at theatre and history. Especially at the end of the first act, where suddenly all these brown shirts marched across the stage singing Horst Wessel Lieder and the curtain fell and we were surround by pure...

Press Release Reds 40th Anniversary Edition (1981) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

To each their own,,,as someone here said. But I think it's necessary to look at source material in a film and see whether it's faithful. From that perspective, "Dr. Zhivago" is a failure. However, I like it anyway, which is completely different. But even as a Lean film, it's weak. Basically...

Press Release Reds 40th Anniversary Edition (1981) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

I didn't say David Lean's films were overlong. Only that they were perfect, and perfection can sometimes be a bit daunting, in particular, dealing with the enigma that was T. E. Lawrence. He was far from perfect, and though that is made clear in the text, the lucidity and even, yes, serenity of...

Press Release Reds 40th Anniversary Edition (1981) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Press Release Reds 40th Anniversary Edition (1981) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

So are you one of those people who called "Reds": "Annie Hall Goes to Moscow"? I respectfully disagree. I consider "Reds" one of the best American films of the 1980's, and while I liked the witnesses, especially those, aged, craggy faces and frail voices of theirs, so soft you were forced to...

Press Release Reds 40th Anniversary Edition (1981) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Well, "Atlantic City", while it was nominated for a spate of Oscars, is more obscure, being directed by a Frenchman--though he was married to Murphy Brown--but it seems the only films from the 80's that are a sure bet for a Paramount Presents release are the ones that star Eddie Murphy.

Press Release Reds 40th Anniversary Edition (1981) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

The rhyme or reason seems to be that the Paramount Presents line have new 4K scans, and the others don't. But why they wouldn't invest the time and money to have a new scan of "Heaven Can Wait" or "Reds" which I think would generate as much interest and sales (if not more) than "Nashville" &...
