Paul_Scott fair enough but it is not as bad as you say it is. You sound like it really bothers you if it does fine but to me it does not. And the blu-ray's are not pathetic sir. The things you say about the transfer of Raiders does not make any sense what so ever. If you don't like it then fine...
I don't agree with anyone who does not like the new transfer of Raiders. Granted the color timing looks different but it's not all that bad as some clam it is. It's not a teal and orange push it's a warm color pallet. You expect too much perfection for this release you can't get older titles to...
I did not see the film until it came out on dvd in 2003 and I was born 2 years after Raiders came out in 1983 so I don't know what the film looked like color wise originally. And I don't agree it's not a teal and orange push as you clam it to be.
Paul_Scott once again your over re acting about the transfer of Raiders. It's a warm color pallet not a teal and orange push as you clam it is. Sorry I agree with what Douglas said. The DVD had crushed black levels on the transfer and not a lot of detail.
JoshZ those issues your talking about do bother me when it comes to transfers but it does not take me out of watching a film. If a director want's to change the look of a film I have no problem with it at all it's their choice to do so. I don't always agree with choices some directors do with...
Paul_Scott I think your over re acting about the new transfers way too much and the set is not even out yet. Like I said before directors change the look of their catalog films when they come out on Blu-Ray it's nothing new get use to it.
Thanks Adam for posing this. Ben Burtt is one of my favorite sound designers in film history. The Sounds he comes up with for the Indiana Jones and Star Wars films as well as WALL-E are amazing and iconic sound effects.
The set is not even out yet in the U.S. and already some are saying the new transfers of the 1st 3 Indy films are so so and not don't like the new color timing. Seriously people wait until the actual discs come out. Wait until you get the actual discs in your hands and watch them and make you...
Some said the said thing about the ot star wars blu-rays when they came out last year. I'm sure the blu-rays for the Indiana Jones the complete adventures will look awesome when they come out on the 18th of this month. Why some complain about directors changing the color timing of their movies...
I will not judge the screenshots until the actual blu-ray discs come out. Besides you can't judge the quality of a blu-ray based on screen captures they are just that screen captures. And reports are Raiders in IMAX looks and sounds great a few blurry shots in the print but that's about it...
There's a video promoting the Indiana Jones Blu-Ray Collection on youtube where Ben Burtt was asked about the sound restoration for Radiers Of The Lost Ark and what he said was they wanted to go back to the original masters and remaster the original sound mix in DTS HD MA that way using the...
