Agreed, Guys And Dolls is another adaptation to film that was pretty terrible. That would have been an excellent vehicle for Spielberg, instead of choosing an absolutely perfect film version of a Broadway show

This post is 100% spot on. May I throw out a remake of Man Of La Macha as well. Such a wonderful Broadway show, that was botched when bringing it to the big screen.
